After college graduation, I worked as a copy editing intern on the news desk of the Sun-Sentinel for eight months in 1996.

 

While working here, ValuJet Flight 592 crashed just 50 miles away in the Everglades. And on my last night, TWA Flight 800 crashed over the Atlantic. Ever since that summer, I haven't liked flying.
